Lipid Content and Plaque Burden in Coronary Lesions in Diabetic and Non-Diabetic Patients: A Sub-Trial of the PROSPECT II Study
From a sub-study of the PROSPECT II trial, the risk of MACE attributable to both treated and untreated lesions was higher in diabetic patients than in non-diabetic patients after AMI, but the percentage of high-risk plaques at baseline did not differ between patients with and without diabetes. Dr. Christine Gyldenkerne, Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark and colleagues reported in the February 7 issue of Circulation.
