Drug-Coated Balloon Angioplasty vs Up-Front Stenting for De Novo CAD: 3-Year Follow-Up of REC-CAGEFREE I Trial
The REC-CAGEFREE I trial demonstrated that among patients with de novo coronary artery disease, treatment with a paclitaxel-coated balloon (DCB) plus provisional rescue stenting was associated with a higher risk of 3-year device-oriented composite events (DOCE) compared with planned drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation, Dr. Ling Tao and colleagues, Xijing Hospital, China, reported in the January 27 issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
