Medical Practice Guidelines for Primary Prevention of Coronary Artery Disease Issued! What are the key points of lipid management?
Five revised/focus updated guidelines were presented at the 87th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Cardiology held in March 2023. One of these, "Guidelines for the Primary Prevention of Coronary Artery Disease"1) ,has been renamed from "Guidelines for the Primary Prevention of Ischemic Heart Disease". The chapter "Evaluation and Treatment of Risk Factors" in this guideline covers hypertension, lipid abnormalities, diabetes and obesity, etc. In this issue, he focused on lipid management and treatment, as well as familial hypercholesterolemia (FH), among others.
