Comparison of intracoronary lithotripsy and rotational atherectomy in improving highly calcified stenosis.
Based on the OCT evaluation of the ROTA.Shock study, intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) disrupted calcified plaque more and for longer than rotablator (RA) in the modification of highly calcified lesions in coronary arteries. On the other hand, acute lumen gain was greater in RA. Dr. Florian Blachutzik of the University Giessen, Germany, and colleagues reported in the June 15 issue of The American Journal of Cardiology.
