Association of Ketones with Cardiovascular Events: The MESA Study
Elevated ketones were associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events, death, and heart failure from the MESA study, based on an average of 13.6 years of observation in middle-aged healthy subjects. Dr. Elad Shemesh of the Institute of Endocrinology, Israel, and colleagues reported in the May 7 issue of the European Heart Journal.
