Lower extremity arterial disease vs. coronary artery disease: mortality differences after revascularization
Patients who underwent revascularization for lower extremity arterial disease(LEAD) had about three-hold the risk of mortality compared with patients who underwent revascularization for coronary artery disease(CAD), and the excessive mortality was considerably attributable to inter-group differences in baseline characteristics, Dr. Mitsuyoshi Takahara and colleagues of Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine, reported in the May 7 issue of the European Heart Journal.
