Baseline characteristics of a multicenter, prospective, real-world study of oral semaglutide in adults with type 2 diabetes in clinical practice in Japan: The PIONEER REAL Japan
The PIONEER REAL Japan, a post-marketing study of semaglutide in Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes, found that more than 70% of patients were taking hypoglycemic agents at baseline and that the main reasons for starting oral semaglutide were glycemic control and weight loss, Dr. Ryo Suzuki and colleagues of Tokyo Medical University reported in the online edition of the Journal of Diabetes Investigation.
