Characteristics of AMI Attributable to Idiopathic Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection: Clinical Evidence from the Nationwide JROAD-DPC Database
The JROAD-DPC database analysis demonstrated that spontaneous coronary artery dissection (ISCAD) was identified in 0.34% of Japanese patients hospitalized for acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and despite having fewer atherosclerotic risk factors, ISCAD patients had similar in-hospital mortality rates compared to non-ISCAD patients, according to a study presented by Dr. Keima Wayama, National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center, Japan, in the Late Breaking Cohort Studies session at the 89th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Circulation Society.
