Intravascular Lithotripsy Alone vs With Atherectomy for PCI of Severely Calcified Lesions Assessed by OCT/OFDI
In patients with severely calcified coronary lesions, treatment with intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) combined with atherectomy was associated with longer procedure time and a higher incidence of myocardial injury, while showing no significant differences in post-PCI minimal lumen diameter (MLD) or minimal lumen area (MLA) compared with IVL alone, Marohito Nakata and colleagues, Urasoe General Hospital, Japan, reported in the December 1 issue of Catheterization & Cardiovascular Interventions.
