In patients with extensive ischemic stroke, thrombectomy resulted in better functional outcomes compared with medical therapy alone, according to the SELECT 2 trial study. Dr. Amrou Sarraj of University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, Ohio, USA, and colleagues reported in the online edition of The New England Journal of Medicine.
