Coronary Chronic Total Occlusions Affect Long-Term Prognosis in Heart Failure With Mildly Reduced Ejection Fraction
The single-center study from Germany demonstrated that among patients with heart failure with mildly reduced ejection fraction (HFmrEF) undergoing coronary angiography, CTO lesions were identified in 17%, and the presence of CTO was associated with impaired long-term prognosis, whereas successful CTO-PCI was linked to improved long-term survival, Dr. Michael Behnes and colleagues, Heidelberg University Hospital, Germany, reported in the September 2 issue of the Journal of the American Heart Association.
